The closest railway stations are in Heinävesi and Savonlinna. The Heinävesi stations (Heinävesi and Vihtari) are unmanned and the tickets are sold onboard the train. The airports closest to the Kolovesi region are in Savonlinna, Varkaus, Joensuu and Kuopio.
